Glasswool batts fitted neatly between ceiling joists in a residential roof cavity

Roof insulation

Roof and ceiling insulation is the single biggest move you can make for comfort and power bills. We fit batts between the ceiling joists or rafters in new builds and retrofits across Melbourne, sizing the R-value to your climate zone so the house holds temperature through the day.

We use glasswool or polyester depending on what suits the cavity and your preference. Each batt is cut to fit snug — no gaps along the edges, no compression that kills the R-rating. We work around downlights and exhaust fans with the right clearances so nothing gets covered that shouldn't.

Most homes are done in a day. We bag and remove all packaging on the way out and leave the roof space tidy.

  • Glasswool or polyester batts
  • R-rating to climate zone
  • Snug fit, no gaps
  • Downlight clearances kept

Bulk batts pressed snug into timber stud wall framing on a new build

Wall insulation

Wall insulation goes into the stud cavities of new builds and renovations before the plaster goes on. We fit bulk batts into timber and steel framing — internal and external walls — so the house performs the way it was designed to.

Each batt is cut around noggins, plumbing runs and electrical so it sits flush in the cavity. No bunching, no gaps at the top or bottom. For internal walls between bedrooms, bathrooms or living areas, we can spec acoustic-rated product to cut noise transfer at the same time.

Vapour considerations are handled per the build spec — we'll talk it through with the builder if there's a wrap or membrane question.

  • Bulk batts in stud cavities
  • Acoustic options inside
  • Worked around services
  • Vapour spec respected

Polyester batts secured between floor joists under a raised timber floor

Underfloor insulation

If you've got a raised timber floor and the place is cold in winter, this is the fix. Bulk batts fitted between the joists from underneath stop draughts coming up through the boards and hold warmth in the rooms above.

We work from the crawl space, cut each batt to fit between the joists and secure it with strapping or wire so it stays put for the long haul — not sagging out in two years. Reflective wraps are available where the build suits them.

Access can be tight. We'll have a look first and let you know what's involved before any work starts.

  • Batts between floor joists
  • Strapping or wire secured
  • Crawl-space access included
  • Reflective wraps where suited

High-density acoustic batts fitted into an internal wall between bedrooms

Acoustic insulation

Acoustic insulation drops the noise moving between rooms. Useful in home theatres, kids' bedrooms, home offices and the shared walls in apartments and townhouses. It's also a smart move between bathrooms and living areas.

We fit high-density acoustic batts into wall cavities and mid-floor systems for two-storey homes. Product is specified to how the room is used and the dB reduction you're after — there's no point overspecifying, and no point doing it half.

Best done at the framing stage before plaster, but we can also work it into renovations where the wall is opened up.

  • High-density acoustic batts
  • Between rooms and bathrooms
  • Mid-floor systems
  • Specified to target dB

Old ducting and building offcuts bagged up and stacked ready to leave site

Rubbish and duct removal

Before new insulation can go in, the old rubbish has to come out. We strip out old ducting, building offcuts and general mess from roof spaces and under floors, bag it up and take it off-site.

It's the unglamorous part of the job, but it matters — a cavity full of old duct and debris means the new batts won't sit right and won't perform. We leave the space clean so the new install can go straight ahead.

All waste is disposed of properly. If we're doing the new install as well, this is included as part of the same job and the same crew.

  • Old ducting removed
  • Offcuts and rubbish cleared
  • Spaces left clean
  • Proper waste disposal

Old water-damaged batts being pulled from a ceiling cavity and bagged on site

Batt removal

Old batts that have copped water, rodents or just years of dust need to come out. We pull old roof, wall and underfloor product cleanly — without spreading it through the rest of the house — and bag it on the spot.

Water-damaged or rodent-affected batts are handled with care. They're not something you want loose in the cavity or the air, so we keep them contained from the moment they're pulled.

The cavity is left cleaned out and ready for new product to drop in. If we're doing the new install too, we move straight onto that the same visit.

  • Roof, wall and underfloor batts
  • Water or rodent damage
  • Bagged and removed
  • Cavities cleaned out
